I dont think I'm in denial but who knows! but I am really not scared, and I dont think we're being brave. But I am just so excited. If I could close my eyes tonight and wake up New Zealand, I would be one happy bunny!
I just want the next few weeks to be over! aarrgghhh!

Well, we've been here since the 12th June... we have moved twice...now we are in Beachlands, South East Auckland...its lovely here. I've been up and down since moving here...didnt like where we lived before. I miss my friends, family and my horse. But I love the beaches, the scenery and the house...and its hot tub!
I spent the weekend very depressed as I feel Im alone all the time... and I'm very moody when I'm horseless.....yesterday I got off my butt and spoke to a horsey lady at the local Pony Club and she gave me all the info about keeping a horse here...and it it dead cheap too!!! I paid £120 a month in UK for one horses livery here it is $120 a month...some are a lot cheaper than that. Theres a waiting list at the livery yard so my name is now on the list for a field.... meanwhile I've been offered a horse to ride....so I'm a lot happier today.
I still dont feel settled here and I expect that feeling to last for ages...but I really do not want to go back to the endless grey days and long cold winters of the UK.... the weather here has been fantastic considering its winter...I reckon Ive seen more blue sky in 2 months than I did in 2 years in UK!...and I just love the different flowers and trees....and the local shops's meat pies and pastries...mmmm

Well, I think you are all doing superbly well, especially those of you only have about a month left here in the UK and I think it's great the way you are all supporting each other!!!
What a lovely group of people you are...makes me just want to give you all a big hug!!!
And also makes me wonder who'll be left behind to support me when I'm at your stage and you've all been and gone and done it!!! ....only kidding

We're not making a definite decision until Xmas/New Year until after our next visit. But boy do I wish we'd gone over now, August, instead of waiting for the Summer by going in December! (Impatience PP, you can appreciate that!) But in light of this, we're hoping to get the house on the market sometime in September if we can get started on all the work (bit tricky with a 5 & 3 year old to entertain all day - well that's my excuse anyhow!). And if NZ is a goa, odds of which are looking increasingly likely, then timing will be purely dependent on the house sale (which may of course happen before Xmas if we're very very very lucky) as I will be going straight for spousal PR, which I could do from NZ. In an ideal world we would be timing it for schooling as our youngest should start school next September, either in the UK or NZ. But obviously we are flexible as these are things beyond our control and Jan '06 would also be fine - more time to holiday in fact, and we would be planning on a long and fantastic one of those on the way over!
Sega mad will also be around, and I would have thought a few more. Carmen.

Congrats to Dave and Lyn, you must be so exited! Hopefully we won't be too far behind you, we are waiting to hear about Grahams qualifications from NZQA. The 10 days waiting time is up on Friday so we should hear any day now :scared:
Pinkie, I'll look after you...if your not going until January we might be on the same plane! I'm sure everyone here will be with you all the way as you have given us all so much help and encouragement.
We have decided against a farewell party too, it doesn't take much to set me off and it would be far too difficult for me to say goodbyes at a party. We are not letting anyone come to the airport either. My youngest sister lives in London and we will visit her 'on route' and that will be really difficult as I cry everytime I leave her. Was sat on the train at Kings X while it was delayed for 20 mins with me crying inside and her on the platform, right couple of planks we looked!
With all the friends we are making on here when we all finally reach our destinations we will have lots of friends there already!
With all the talk about getting fit, I have today become the proud owner of an Orbitrek fitness thingy and have been clocking up some miles. Felt real good so I celebrated with some Thorntons......... Well, it is our 15th wedding anniversary today and Grahams on nights so a gals gotta make do!

Pinkie
Great thread! Here's our update!
Blue stickers in passports, house sold (should get completion date today :scared: ), shippers on standby, golden arrow on standby for the dog, no flights booked, cars not sold, alcohol consumption doubled , amount of time sleeping halved !!
I don't think I'll have any hair left if we don't get on that plane soon

All animals rabies injected and we're getting through all the other vet stuff to get them over - very strict time limits on things.
Stopped work this week!
Really making great headway with the gigantic list.
Still to do
House clear out. (next week)
clean bikes and lawnmower
so all in all not too bad - however it feels really bad! why??????

What animals did you have to have rabies injected to come to NZ?
