case officers

Submitted my ITA on Thursday 4th January 2007, a good day!
Tried to contact my case officer today and have found out that he is on leave until 30th January.
I am due to start work on 5th March and would like to be in NZ a couple of weeks prior.
Can anyone shed any light on this situation or just offer some support or buy me a beer?

Did you ask if another case officer can be assigned? I'd be gutted if it were me, which it might well be, I'm making a call later today! Other than that, here's a big virtual hug, and a virtual drink

Betcha feel better now!

You might know my best mate's sister, Siobhan Smith? I think she uses that last name as well. She works there, my mate works at Aylesbury young Offenders. Anyway, I'm not working, I gave birth in October, and we're leaving soon, so decided to establish career in NZ. Whereabouts you headed in NZ? Have you been before?

Dunedin's great, make sure you visit the Speights Brewery!

Not sure where we're going yet. My husband is from Auckland, but I don't think we'll settle there. Probably somewhere in the Nrth Island. I'd love to be based in the SI though, people are much friendler and the scenery is amazing. Blimey, what a miserable day today, can't wait to leave days like this behind!

Years ago, my badminton team played the inmates of Grendon - I thought we were playing Springhill, the open prison - had no idea we would be in the high security unit - there is/or was, a glass fronted viewing gallery above the gym - someone had lost or locked the keys inside, so one of the prison officers scaled the wall bars and crawled in through a window - one of our opponents said " I got 10 years for doing stuff like that..."

My badminton partner at that time was a straight talking Geordie - when we stopped halfway through for tea and biscuits, he turned to our twenty something opponent, who was very quietly sipping his tea, and asked what he was in for. "Rape and murder" came the quiet reply - that sure shut Geordie up!

Think the weirdest thing was having to be escorted to the loo by an officer who unlocked the loo door for me and then locked me in until I knocked on the door and he let me out again!
