Re: case officer just called..
We are off to Auckland, certainly to begin with. I work in IT. No job set up yet but i have a few leads. My wife is therapist and has a few leads as well.
Its great to finally get the visa's. My mind is spinning now with all the things we now have to do to get ourselves organised! I think i'll just chill out for a few days and enjoy having the visa's before launching into full 'lets get organised' mode!

Cheers Lardyl,
She is a systemic psychotherapist, specialising in family therapy. She has made a few good contacts already so hopefully will be able to get work out there.

MrsL works with an ex-pat Ed. Psyc. who in her former life (ie country) practised in that sort of field, and she comes from a medical family (most of whomn ar ein NZ) so if you are stuck she may be able to point you in the right direction. Got any idea where you want to live??

We did a 3 week reckie trip a couple of years ago now but we didnt really stay in Auckland for long so have very little 1st hand experience of the areas, just what we have researched online. We have looked at a few areas all over Auckland but need to actually go and have a good look before we decide, Titirangi, somewhere on the North Shore or perhaps the Whangaparoa peninsula are all on our shortlist to go and have a good look at. Somewhere with decent schools as well as we have two sprogs fast approaching school age.

Re: case officer just called..
We submitted our ITA in Nov06, took several months to get a case officer who asked us for a couple of extra obscure bits of documentation. Sent the last bit to her 10 days ago and bingo. Full residency granted today.
