Cars (and no jet lag, honest!)
I thought the jet lag wasn't going to be bad... first night bed at 6pm, slept ok but daughter up at 4am!
Last night bed at 8pm, slept ok but had(!) to get up to watch GP and now wide awake!
So anyway, re: cars... we're looking at picking one up ASAP... am I right in thinking that if the car has rego and a WOF all I need to do is pay the cash, transfer ownership and away I go? I'm full legal right? Ideally I'd prefer to have full insurance in place (wouldn't feel comfortable without it) but if I am legal with rego and WOF alone thats fine.
Completely not related (jet lag is messing with my brain ) there were some lovely trees at the top of Albert Park in Auckland... they had pink flowers and they were covered in small hand-knitted pockets on string... anyone have any idea what thats all about? Some kind of Japanese tradition or something?

Congratulations on you arrival, Rick. Hope you and your family feel settled really soon. Extremely alarmed to hear about you being up in the middle of the night to watch GP!!! Bad enough that hubby watches it on a weekend afternoon Good luck with your new adventure.

Cheers fb... I'm a motorsport fanatic and wifey hates loosing me on Sundays... so she's happy now that she is sleeping when I watch it!
Looking at lots of cars on a couple of sites now, and turners have an auction for sub $5.5k tomorrow which is right up our street.
Only thing I need now is a Parkers guide for NZ cars... anyone know of one?
I've found the turners price check, but its not as practical when out on the road!
Cheers.

Re: Cars (and no jet lag, honest!)
Don't think there is a Parker's (or what car) for NZ although a trade guide is bound to exist and there is the Dog and Lemon guide:
http://www.dogandlemon.com/articles
A Parkers would be pretty hard to compile as there are zillions of makes and models here on account of the fact that we are the dumping ground (or is it a good application of the reduce/reuse/recycle principle??) for many models from many different markets.

Hey guys - managed to pick up a decent Legnum for a good price and good history. Had a drive to Pakiri beach up North - amazing. When I get chance I'll post some pics.
Re: motorbike - it's arriving soon so will defintrly be up for a ride out! It's been too long now!
