The inevitable has happened and my car has finally died. My lovely 22 year old Rav who I have battered around the North Island is getting laid to rest sometime soon.
I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to cars and would really rather not buy from someone random from trade me. I guess buying used cars and 'trust' have been a bit broken for me.
Anyway, any got any dealers in Auckland that are a preference? Ideally I'll move into another Toyota, younger than my current model. Maybe from 2005 onwards. Budget I'd prob go with like $8K. That's probably unrealistic but I know the questions of what are you looking for will come and it will help with any advice you can give me. Just somewhere in Auckland that is 'reputable' for cars?

You could try Auckland City Toyota in both Mt Wellington and Greenlane. They have the Toyota name behind them and therefore theoretically have to keep their dealing to a standard. They also have the biggest selection of Toyotas I think. They do new and used cars. Not sure how many in your price range but maybe worth a look.

OH went to Albany Toyota for a 'new' Rav4. We got really good service from them. Went to North Shore Toyota first at Wairau Park ( we bought from them originally back in 2007) but they were hopeless, seemed really disinterested. OH bargained hard at Albany Toyota and got the car he wanted for a reasonable price plus a few extras thrown in.
It does help that he used to work for Toyota in the UK, he works in procurement and so the sales folk can't BS him

Thanks guys! I had thought about Toyota as I've done a bit of work for them marketing their used cars. I'll check them out!!! Doh, don't know why I didn't check that in the first place....
