Car running costs - new WOF rules
I'm updating my estimated living costs spreadsheet and I see the safety certificate is now once a year instead of ever six months. Prices are talked about on websites but no actual numbers are given, what's the average costs of a test, just the test itself, not any work that needs doing?
I've found prices for registering (once) and taxing (every year) various vehicles at Vehicle registration and licensing fees | NZ Transport Agency
This site has very similar information for both a Warrant and a Certificate of Fitness. Is the Certificate the new name for the Warrant or are there two certificates you need?
It seems petrol is still cheaper than in the UK as is diesel but I've also allowed for the kilometre certificate thingy for running a diesel.
I've been searching the forum for insurance costs and gathered an average of those. Apart from general tyre replacement and normal repair costs have I missed anything?

Certificate of fitness is for specific types of vehicles, passenger carrying taxis, buses, heavy goods and trucks.

Re: Car running costs - new WOF rules
A WoF is only once a year if your car was first registered on or after 1 January 2000. If not, it's every 6 months.
