Default Car Insurance advise needed

Hi all

Which insurance company is the best to use for car insurance?

I would like a company that charges a realistic fee but has reasonable customer service if it is needed. I have tried a few online quotes but this does not give me any results as our european car is not on their vehicles list.

I have already received a quote from AMI but I think a premium of $750 for a Diesel Citroen C5 with 60% no claims is a bit on the expensive side comparing it with the £250 i used to pay in the UK. It may turn out that AMI are ccompetitive if so no problems that is what i will have to pay.

Kind regards in advance

Mark

Try the AA. Ironically I have heard others that have gotten stonking deals from AMI. In 5 yrs the AA have always beaten all the others.

I went with my bank (ASB in this case) as the more insurances you combine the cheaper it gets, and they were generally much cheaper than the insurance companies I spoke to.

We went with AMI just at $604 for a 2004 1.5L Subaru Imprezza. AA quoted $880 and ANZ who we bank with was $710.

Also got contents insurance with them to which brought it down a little bit more but no one we tried could touch AMI.

I'd second that, AA have proved cheapest for me and AA membership thrown in too.

You certainly should be paying less for comp insurance than the UK as it covers less.

Just insured the house and car with AMI. Beat any other quote by £200 for each policy.

The Citroen may be expensive, as parts for them aren't readily available, here. Did you bring it with you?
