Canterbury Leads Growth in Residential Building Activity - apparently

From a BE article HERE

"Residential building activity is on the up again,” industry and labour statistics manager Clara Eatherley said. “In value terms, Canterbury region led with strong growth."

Does it seem that way to those down in Christchurch. From what we are hearing coming out of Christchurch, this isn't really the case.

Hell yeah! We put the power into the new sections and we have been flat out, we've done over 2000 this year it's been very busy. Break-up day was yesterday and I am glad of the break it's gonna be full on again next year

Yeah, would concur with Woodlea, there are new builds and sub-divisions springing up all around Chch. Rolleston is going mad and places like Prebbleton (expensive) and Lincoln (fairly expensive) are growing very considerably.
