OMG!!! I've not seen weather like this in a long, long time!!!

I'm shocked

Does Wellington get a lot of weather like this during it's 'summer' months??

I'm very grateful that I don't have to be travelling anywhere today, it's pouring out there!!

If its not the snow in the UK, it's sideways rain from hell, ha! ha!

Bring on the sunshine

Still glad to be here though

yes, a bit unusual from my experiences. tend to be dryer/no rain this time of the year. but I prefer rainy day to sunny day coz I don't need to put loads of nasty suncream on my face layers and layers all day.

Its not too bad actually, I wear gumboots, raincoat, and am gonna hold brelly today coz it rains too much. and I will be fine. lovely rain

You sound well prepared! I still have a lot to learn
I actually enjoyed walking in the rain a little yesterday, it wasn't too bad at that stage. I don't mind it if the weather is still warm

We snuggled up in a lovely cafe' along Oriental Bay for a late lunch and the most devine coffee.

So not all bad

But I am looking forward to some sunny days.

I don't mind weather either. We went out walking in the monsoon.

I think it is quite often rainy around Christmas . The weather is not at all settled.

Hey, you gotta adjust to wherever you choose to be. So its just a matter of acclimatization IMO.

Yes it can get a lot worse In winter.

It's just a bit damp, don't let it get you down

Weather is weather - nothing you can do about it so enjoy yourself anyway.

Monday morning was a bit cold, but apart from that weather has been fine in Wellington - just pouring with rain! So what? Weather can be like that in most of the world. I think it will be pretty wet Tuesday morning too.

If you think thats bad weather, Wellington is not for you. Wellington is not tropical but it aint that bad either, for example, a frost is pretty rare. If you want warmth, move to Brisbane.

Yip today is most definately worse than yesterday!

Just out of interest, when are the official summer months in New Zealand and how long does the summer normally last?

Off to Nelson on Friday to visit the family for Christmas, I'm looking forward to that...:

Yes, it is most definately not a tropical place but I never said it was!

Saturday was a lovely day in Wellie....it's only Tuesday. According to the long-range forecast which will likely be wrong, Xmas Day is sunny in Wellington.

Nelson gets a lot of sunshine hours as well so you should be ok. It's one extreme to the other at the moment.

crap coffee! that's naughty. You certainly do need sunscreen on crappy days. Yesterday the weather was terrible - wet, overcast, ridiculously gusty.

And it reached 13 on the UV Indicator. That's 'extreme' in case anyone wonders.

yes, I do wear sunscreen on crappy, rainy, muggy, cloudy, grey days or any kind and (even in the office)! just one layer on a crappy day. Usually a few layers on sunny days (it clogs pores badly ) and repeat every 3 or 4 hours. crap.

so I prefer to go out at night / in the dark. - don't need to wear suncreen .......... I believe........................maybe I am wrong?

such a crappy weather today - gusty wind fed up.
