Can we bring my parents?
 

Hi there just wondered if anyone had experience in taking their parents?
We gained PR in 2005 and although we visited in 2006 we came out again and have been out for nearly 2 years on our RRV's.
We are moving permanently in April.
In the meantime one of my sisters has made the move to NZ (leaving one in the uk).
How long will it be before we could sponsor my parents?
Any ideas for them to move quickly?

The earliest that anyone can sponsor their parents is 3 YEARS AFTER GAINING PR

Yep, 3 years AFAIK. When you say you've been out for nearly 2 years on RRV's, do you mean out of NZ for nearly 2 years? Am just curious as when we got PR the letter we got said that for the first 2 years you are on 'probabtion' and that at the end of the 2 year period you have to meet certain criteria, like being here for 6 months out of 12. Sorry, am not meaning to be nosey; maybe it was different when yours was issued back in 2005?

Yes we have been out of New Zealand for just under 2 years as we had 2 year RRV's. When we go back this time we will not be able to leave for 6 months etc.
