Can immigration consultants guarantee this?
A cut and paste from an email received....
Just to follow up what we spoke about this afternoon. We could take care of your skilled migrant and work visa applications and guarantee their approval. Our fee for this would be $3000 +GST which can be paid in 2 50% deposits or via a payment plan.
In order for us to guarantee your applications success we would need to get on to this asap. The next EOI selection taking place is next week and we would need you to be in this.
If you are happy to go ahead please let me know and I will send through a contract, I do require your last name (which I should have asked for on the phone sorry!) and address before sending through the contract so please let me know these details.

That's a bit hard to give an opinion on without other details.
If the consultant already knows that there are no mediical conditions and nothing untoward in a police check + the applicant has great SMC points of over 140 plus a job offer as a work visa is mentioned then the consultant could be onto a sure bet.

No one can absolutely guarantee success, unless maybe you've given them a lot of information already and you are an exceptional case who clearly meets all of the criteria?
Or do they mean that they won't charge you if your application is not successful?
They actually sound a bit dodgy to me!

If they haven't even got your name, then I'm guessing they haven't got enough other information either to "guarantee" success. Steer clear, would be my advice.

This was sent while the sister in law was in an appeal against having her work permit extension declined. The appeal had gone in, on time, and she spoke to the consultant while waiting for the result.
It just seemed that her vulnerability could've been exploited. I didn't post this until her extension was granted, I just wonder if this was possible.
