Buying land in NZ/ relocatable homes

I am thinking of buying land in North Island. Can anyone give me any pointers as to what I should be looking for when buying a section- good questions to ask the real estate agent?
Are there any limitations to amount of land I can buy as I am not yet a permanent resident (but am hoping to be soon!)

Can anyone tell me where is the best place (specialist companies) to find relocatable homes/ good and bad things about them/ cost new and used/ types to go for/avoid.
Also if I find one that needs moving- are there companies (South and North Island) that do it and how much roughly would it cost?
Any information about land buying/ rules/ relocatable homes would be really welcome. Cheers all.

One golden rule=DO NOT BUY ANY MAORI CONTROLLED LAND.

It will bite you in the bum

This is why Maori are not allowed to donate body organs--they will want them back in a couple of years

There is no limit to how much land you can buy and unfortunatly it can be sold to non residents. This is the main reason why now coastal properties and land is unatainable to most kiwi's. All real estate agents sell land as well as property, have a look at www.open2view.com.
Can't think of any companies that move houses, sorry.

Friends of my husband have just bought a piece of land to build (they are going for a brand new colonial style house that will be coming over to them in about three bits - amazing to watch - our neighbours have just had a kit house delivered it all came on big trucks!) they bought it through Harcourts.
www.harcourts.co.nz

good luck, its very normal to buy a house here and move it so you should have no problems.

Good to know- I guess this applies particularly to Northland. I shall definitely check this sort of thing out before buying. Cheers.

Thanks for the tip- will follow up. I realise it must be annoying for the kiwis but I am now a permanent resident and intend moving and staying!

Where did they get the colonial brand new house from- which company?
I have often visited the Harcourts website and tried again yesterday. How did they find the brand new kit house on it. I can't think where it can be on the website? If you know would you let me know? Cheers

Hi

Try these two sites - they are both sales and relocation of houses. Looks fascinating to me! :D

www.brittons.co.nz/Services
