If there's an incompatibility it will be in the tuner (or if your ship sinks, in the tuna ). So if you get a digi-box of some sort, you bypass the tuner by connecting through the AV ports - hence no problem

Neither of the TVs I brought to Oz picks up local TV but the big TV has a satellite digi-box connected and the portble has a 'freeview' type digi-box so it's all good.

With the current exchange rate, there's probbaly not much diff in price UK-NZ for TVs. If it goes down agai, better buying in UK probably

the exaxct same tv that we had in the uk is £200 cheaper in NZ. We also looked at video cameras & they were cheaper here in NZ too

Try kelkoo.co.uk against lvmartin.co.nz or noelleeming.co.nz

I'm actually in Oz but we have the same TV problems.

This site can be really useful There's a search facility so you can look up answers to some of the obvious questions or otherwise post away. Somebody will know the answer
