Bring References With You
Hi guys
When you come and live over here, if possible try and bring references from your previous employers with you. It can be a real pain in the you know what waiting for future employees to get in touch with them.
I'm such an impatient bunny, I've been waiting since Friday last week, yeah I know it's not long, but they either want me to work for them or they don't :curse:
Rant over!!

I would agree with that - the thing is - I went to the trouble of getting references from previous employers and now I can't b*****y find them. I remember sorting them out and I have looked through all my papers. I feel I may have missed a whole box of stuff from the move arrrggghhh.

In my experience, new employers will always insist on a telephone call to speak with ex-employers. Anyone can forge a letter, but a telephone call makes things a bit more real and you can ask what you want to know, rather then the general blurb in a standard reference letter.
Just my experience - bu certainly doesn't hurt to have the written one to hand to start the process.
