Default Being a Landlord Abroad etc

Hi Everyone,

First post so forgive me if its in the wrong place or something.

Just a few questions that hopefully someone can help me with. My girlfriend and myself are moving to Auckland soon and are sorting out renting our place out here. Can anyone here tell me which forms etc I need to fill out for HMRC? I spoke to them on the phone but they were about as much use a chocolate teapot, said I had to send a letter here, another one there, then fill out a form once I've moved. Can anyone help?

Also any advice on setting up a bank account in NZ from the UK and also what are mobile phone companies like in NZ and can you keep your number?

Thanks in advance

Daniel

I 'spect someone will be along in a minute about the forms and stuff.

Have some welcoming NE karma ( blue boxes) and Happy Posting to this little forum.

Hi Daniel, have a look here on the Inland Revenue site which should help. There was also this recent thread which you should find useful.

Hope this helps.

Vodafone is better for international sms - more countries (or maybe just the ones I go to).

Oh, and you can't keep your number. Telecom mobiles here start 027 and Vodafone start 021.
