So…. My favourite Pub/Micro brewery has gone (Twisted Hop), so has my favourite Steak House (Moo’s)… seems like a good time to start a new venture. Been thinking about starting a micro brewery for a long time now. Just need that leap of faith, and a good bit of study!......... Ahhhhh.. Real Ale, nothing like it!

Me and my pommy pals in Rangiora are always on about setting up an English-style pub out here (normally after a few pints and then we get up the next day bleary-eyed and just carry on as normal!). Reckon there would be a good market for it in Rangoon, certainly us four would be regulars anyway! Also a market for a decent pizza place as competition for the dire Pizza Hut which does a roaring trade despite being bloody awful!
Look at Montieths, making an absolute bomb since the EQs and also pretty dire, but better than Robbies!

I don't mind JR's.... beer is still the same shite though! And you are right, the Pizza Place is UGH! Best Pizza place i have found in Canty so far is the Hells Pizza at HORNBY. Long way to go, but they do a decent one.

I have a number of outbuildings here, on a good spread. The woodshed is my favourite possibility... have already put 3ph power, water, phone line in..... just in case!

They have them already.... there was a great mobile bar at a nearby function to us last year....... they can be found on the web but can't remember the name.... sorry. Didn't do "proper" Ale though

Quiz has started back at Montieths now on Tuesday nights - that's the only reason we (Yorkies) go there....JRs much cheaper and it has Speights (lesser of the evils)....

Beer, well I buy the odd bottle of "Bishops Finger" or "Hobgoblin" and other such English bottled beers. But at $8.50 a bottle, gets a bit expensive. Brew moon does a a half decent brew, but still not as good as it could be. Speights, well it is slightly better hogwash than is Tui. Even so, I have to gulp down two glasses full, just so the third doesnt taste so bad!
