Been here 8 years, still not sure :)
Kia ora to all the Brits over here, or should I say Ey up, as I'm a Yorkshire lass.
I'm in Dunedin, with my husband of 32 years and my 18 year old, who's just starting at the Polytech.
Currently feeling a little restless as husband's been unemployed for a long time now and I'm beginning to think about where our best chances might be.
Oh and I'm a counsellor/therapist, which I wouldn't change. Best job in the world. I'm also a quiltaholic.

Hi Cuddly Quilter, Welcome to BE. Our friendly members will pop along soon with some advice, I'm sure. My good lady is a quiltaholic also! (Can you guess that from my user name?)

It's funny how a quilter can spot those five letters, in any order, a mile away

Yup! Can also smell a fabric shop from miles away. We're off to Indonesia later in year on hols - I lie, it's to buy Batik and visit the Batik factories!

I'll use the posh name lol, Kingston upon Hull. Or if you're from there 'Ull. City of culture no less *stifles giggles*
Husband was a manager in auto trade, in the UK was a manager for Halfords, then AA, but the job here became totally different to managing people, which he's good at. We manage on my self employed income and a help from WINZ. Not what we want to do, but we're forced to.

Eyup fellow Dunedin based Yorkshire person.
I know exactly how you feel, we've been here 5 years and are feeling very unsettled and having just had a baby we are seriously considering why we living so far away from loved ones in a remote city in a remote country where nothing really ever happens which costs a fortune to live in.
It's not making much sense to us at the minute being in Dunedin/NZ.

Must be something about Yorkshire and Dunedin, I'm a Leeds lad myself. Lived in Dunedin 10 years and have to say if it was just me I would have gone home ages ago. There really isn't much to do but we stay as we have two young boys and I do think it is a great place to raise a family compared to the UK. Sure I won't be spending the rest of my life here though, hoping when the boys get older they want to try living back home.

You won't see sensible Lancashire folk heading to Dunedin. We'll leave it to you Yorkshire folk.
Must be a few short planks down there!

Hello, welcome to BE
As a non-quilter I read your declaration as you are a quitaholic, which had me wondering for a few minutes what life would be like to be always quitting everything Glad it's quilts that are your thing and not quitting!
