Bar admission in New Zealand
Hi, I'm a law graduate with a UK LLB and completed the LPC as well and I want to be admitted as a barrister & Solicitor in New Zealand.
I have not been admitted as a Solicitor in England and I would need to have my qualifications assessed by the Council in NZ.
I read the information brochure and it states that " In assessing degree equivalence, credit will not necessarily be given for subjects passed with less than a mark of 50% unless the Council is satisfied that the mark is equivalent to a pass grade at a New Zealand University. "
I got a 2.2 and on my degree transcript I have one subject passed under 50% which is equity. However, I got 83 % in my LPC for property law.
Anyone in a similar situation. My only worry is to do Uni subjects on top of the NZLPE....
