Other banks may offer the same service, see westpac.co.nz asb.co.nz or anz.co.nz
Those banks are the main banks, you should be fine at any of those. It is also a good idea to set up a savings account (u can do that once u r in NZ), and start putting money in it straight away, as it establishes a savings history for you, which may help in future if you apply for mortgages etc.

The National Bank of New Zealand are GREAT!! We have had our account with the for years now, and have had no bother and LOADS of help from them - can even put you in touch with a very friendly Bank Manager if you like.....

I agree the National Bank of NZ are fine I've had an account with them for 12 years, and I operate it from Oz via internet banking. Only charge is $1 per month for internet banking.
Considered switching my investment mortagage to Bankdirect when they first opened in NZ as they were offering good rates on Floating mortagage (about 1% cheaper) but found it was to complicated doing it from Oz. Now the newness has worn off rates are only about 0.5% cheaper and term investments are worse than NBNZ offer.
Banks in Oz and NZ may be owned by the same holding companies but they are totally seperate entities.
