Default Baggage allowances..

Ive been onto Singapore airlines and they have told me that an economy passenger is only allowed 1 piece of baggage at 20kg-25 max... Even with a wtr visa.. A bit harsh i thought, surely they would let you take two pieces..NZ airlines are the same....
$37 per kilo over too!.. Anyone had any instances at the check indesk with baggage?..

Gary.

Have you looked at this company?

http://www.sevenseasworldwide.com/ho...FYob4Qodoz22DQ

I have got a quote for 10 teachests, up to 40kg each, collected from me and delivered to address in NZ for £365.00.

Haven't used them yet but it might be worth a look?

Air NZ allow a second 23kg bag per person for £35 - don't think that is too bad....

Aparently ANZ bank have a deal with Air NZ and if you open an account with them you get 50kg Per person as a migrant...

Yes this is correct.. a 2nd bag at £35 and a third for £100 so for £135 you can take an extra 46kg's of luggage.. thats mega for the money..

This is correct, I had already opened my account with Westpac though so missed out. I just flew with emirates, had 2 full size cases checked in at 29k and carried on a small wheelie case with extra stuff...

Connie
Was that by air or sea? It may also depend on where you want them picked up from and delivered to? I have re -entered the quantity etc and it is coming up at original quote if I send it by sea, which is how I would send it.

Thats definitely air... not sea freight. I recently sent 5 chests and 2 book boxes... the first chest is around 60 and subsequent ones are 30 each, plus 30 collection... so 10 should be around 360?

Think we are going to go with The excess baggage company, has anyone used them before and if so how did you find them?

Many thanks

You could always risk it when you check in......when I emigrated, I had two suitcases (23kg each), and they waived the fee as I was emigrating. That was with Singapore Airlines, 4 years ago and flying out of Manchester Aiport. It probably helped that I had been crying as well saying goodbye to family!
