Baby passport ?

Hi we have recently had a baby here and wondered if anyone knows the situation with regard to passport and visas. We hope to travel to UK for her first birthday so will need a passport and I'm guessing she will maybe need a blue sticker. (we have been here almost 4 years so still have a while before citezinship) How do we go about getting passport and visas. Ta in advance

Hi Hun

I take it Mia Rose is doing lovely.

I'm not 100% on this but I would suspect that Mia is a kiwi by birth and that you would obtain a NZ passport for her

Hi

Good to hear she is doing well. My nickname is Mia

I'm sure someone will be along soon that knows far more than I. I think that coz she born there she entitled to citizenship from birth irrespective of parents citizenship. I have a daughter that is a UK and US citizen, but I am not a US citizen. You would also need to register her over here too so she has dual nationality. Very useful when they are adults

x

If you are NZ permanent residents, then your child is a New Zealand citizen => get an NZ passport immediately.

If you are both temporary residents, then child is not an NZ citizen.

No longer true ... for children born in NZ to foreign parents since 1 January 2006, at least one parent must be an NZ permanent resident (includes Australian citizens and permanent residents).
