Maybe but I mearly point out almost all individuals and most households have a much lower level of income yet still manage.
Best to budget for the one actual main wage as the partner may not find work. Just a thought.

Nz is a low wage economy but the living costs are among the highest in the world.. You do need a salary of at least $100-150k to have a reasonable to live comfortably but no one gets paid that - many kiwis struggle as the median wage is only $40k so the govt is providing free breakfasts in schools as well as shoes etc for those that can't manage.- there is a growing child poverty problem here.
