Default Average take-home Salery

There are threads putting people off moving to New Zealand because of the low wage they may receive.

Can people please post the Average weekly / monthly take-hame wage for as many professions as possible.

I will be a class 5 truck driver when we get there and my wife is a Senior Social Worker in UK so please add these if you know the salery.

THIS isn't a bad place to start and you can get down to reasonably specific work areas if you go through the listings.

Seek.co.nz are also in the process of compiling a NZ salary survey which will possibly give a more comprehensive view when complete?

yeah...fantastic link teeym, hadn't seen that on before - have some karma!
I had no real idea on whether the salary I had been offered was any good or not because, try as I might, I could not find a single bloody thing about pharmacists wages in NZ

According to your link I have been offered just above the median wage (that's a smug smile in case no-one realised!)

Oh and clinical pharmacist - $68000 with 4 years specialist experience

Call me a pedantic statistician, but the definition of median is that exactly half the population will earn less!

Various positions(senior) in Auckland. They aren't always advertised as that high but the right person can negotiate them upwards. My OH was offered a job with Rodney District Council which was originally advertised at approx
$95k but they eventually offered him $125k after negotiation. For various reasons, including the salary (still too low for his level of experience & the salary he was already on) he didn't take it.
