Argos or similar...
Hey guys!
I have found a nice flat So I can finally move out of the hotel and have some sort of life after work There's a gym and pool in the building, so we can (continue to) keep fit!! And Am Loolah it has only one bedroom, so for now it will be sofa bed or hotel
Although it's fully furnished, I need to go and buy a duvet and some sheets as (also I dont have OCD) I do not sleep in bedsheets & duvets left in appartments... So where?? There's a big Warehouse at the bottom of Queen St in Auckland, is there anywhere else I can go shopping too?
And yes, re food... Is Foodtown my best bet? Again, there's one fairly close. just wondering where I should look? (Yes, i've been here 3 weeks already and so far it's been restaurants or takeaway...)
And again, I was SO shocked that you can't buy spirits in your supermarkets here... What's this all about?

theres usually a liquor store (or two) next to the supermarkets so its not that bad..
Foodtown/ Woolworths/ Pak.Save, pretty much the smae really at the end of the day, you can try shopping round a bit and see what you like, but most likely to depend which one is closest and most convinient in terms of location
Warehouse is cheep and cheerful, you can try Farmers as well, there is one in newmarket or St Lukes. There is a big warehouse in newmarket too, and for electronices Dick Smith, Bond and Bond, Noel Leeming.
No catalogue shopping like argos in Nz though.

Be careful to look for the 'thread count' in the sheets etc - it refers to the thickness and the lower it is the more threadbare it is Bed Bath and Beyond are in St Lukes I think and their stuff is good and will last a few years.
Supermarkets - Foodtown is more expensive than Countdown and Countdown, generally, is more expensive than Pak n Save. I prefer Foodtown myself.

You know...I love that you can't buy spirits...spirits are a specialist liquor that should be bought at specialist shops.
I;m in West Auckland where the supermarkets are alcohol free and it pleases me greatly!
As for homewares...farmers is good for sales..especially the one in Newmarket...i got some great bargains there on the weekend

Remember there is always a sale at Briscoes. Never pay full price for anything there, just wait a few weeks and it will be on sale
