Approval in Principle - SO fast, now I need to get the money over
 

Well, what can I say; we went for our 'fast track' interview on the 15th June and received our Approval in Principle dated the 30th June. YES, you read it right; approved in 15 days :eek: Now all we have to do is pass in the Passports for the paperwork and we are done, just waiting until we return from UK in Sept'

So here's the question. I've been reading the forums on getting the money over. Most, mention various companies for the money transfer from UK to NZ; but when we came over for a holiday (turned into moving here) I transfered the funds through our UK bank to NZ bank via' a 'Swift' transfer. At the time that gave a good exchange rate, very near that 'stated' on the various business sites. Any reason NOT to use this method rather than the likes of HiFX ltd? As I mentioned above, we are heading back to UK, so could do Swift transfer then.

Hope the question make sense, and hope the thread gives 'Hope' to those who are in the 'Fast track' process.:thumbsup:

Congratulations on getting approval so quickly!

In terms of transferring funds over there in my experience you will get a better rate and also service form a broker. You will also knoew what rate you are getting before you agree to anything. For a currency like the NZ dollar that is so important as the rate moves very quickly. I always leave orders in with my broker so that they can buy on my behalf if we (ever) see a spike in the market!
