anyone used 'excess baggage' to ship their car & stuff?

Hi all,

Has anyone used a UK based company called 'excess baggage' to ship anything to NZ? I just wanted to hear some feedback from you before we go ahead and book them. They have been really helpful so far and have quoted us competitive prices for our 10 boxes of stuff and one car.

Any help appreciated

Nobody ever used them? They're a massive company with ads all over.

Nope. It would seem not .
Certainly not one of the usuals.

Used a lot to get stuff to Aus. If they ship to NZ I wonder why no one appears to have used them here . They've got a reasonably good rep on the Aus boards, go have a search. I'll see what I can find you.

Edit: Just had a look and whilst there are stacks of them, the majority seem to have used them only for shipping small amounts, excess baggage I guess. Can't find anyone who's used them for the whole kit and caboodle. Don't know if that helps or not.

Yes, I used them about four years ago and had a good experience with them. My only complaint was that their final invoice exceeded their original quote, as I recall, but that is apparently quite usual and it was not excessive.

I know it doesn't include the car, and is slightly out of context, but we found sending our "need when we get there" stuff as unaccompanied baggage rather than "excess baggage" (not the company) worked out pretty well.
We had to wait a couple of days after we landed to pick it up, but it was a damn sight cheaper than flying it on the same plane, it just goes on the next one with room.

Yes, we sent three tea cartons with them. The guy on the phone was lovely, and everything arrived where and when they said it would, and unbroken.

Only downer was the sub-contracted pick-up courier guy shouted at me for expecting him to carry three boxes weighing 30kg each... printed on the side of the box was "must not exceed 35kg"
