Yeh tried them they don't have the road listed, funny they did the other week, and I think I have to pay to see sale prices.

Have you tried some of the agents in the area your looking. A few of the open homes we went to, the agents were giving out lists of recent sales they had completed.

qv reports - costs a few dollars per search but give you lots of other stats apart from just the price.

Sometimes prices for houses sold in the locality are displayed on Trademe (down the bottom, above the Save to Watchlist button) e.g. this one: http://www.trademe.co.nz/property/re...-444251914.htm

If you're after an idea of prices you can also look up the rates assessment of individual properties on the local council website, this will give you a Capital Value (CV). It's generally a good negotiating base to start from. Properties are revalued every three years, so depends how long since they were last done, but would need to think of your own good reasons why you might consider paying more or less than the CV.

So at the bottom of the page where is says "Recent QV sales information" thats the price it actually sold for?

Hmm, when I first put up that link there were actual addresses and prices they sold for, now it is just recent qv sales info - sorry to have misled you but I guess TradeMe have revised the page.
