Karma given for that post. ;) :D

In the bottom left hand corner of each post, there's a small blue button with "KARMA" written on it. You can add to a person's "reputation" on BE by clicking it and putting in some comments, then pressing the "OK" button after submitting the Karma.

To see Karma given to you, click on "My Profile" underneath "Discussion Forum". You have to spread karma around to, I believe, 25 different people before you can give it to the same person again, though that may have changed since I last read up on it. The latest on Karma is in the "Site Feedback" forum.

thanks,

I did the same to you.

One thing still bothers me what is the point to it?

Oh and can you run out of Karma by giving too much away, or when you give it does it take it away from you?

Thanks for the Karma! :)

The point to Karma?... uh... hmmm... you've got me there! :D

No you can't run out of Karma - your Karma is just given to you by others. It's depicted (very very roughly ;) ) by the little blue boxes under your username. You can see your 'score' in your profile.

It's just a nice thing to do I guess, giving and receiving karma.

I think there briefly was a negative karma button on here too ... a few years ago now, so I think it just may show to to others how nice or wicked a person you may be :p

I've only just realised there is points linked to how much karma you have!
Obvious question-but what score do people have-mine is about 8,100 points. Is that good? Bad? Irrelevent?

The 'karma levels' also give you a title such as 'beacon of light' or 'reputation beyond repute'

(put your mouse over the blue boxes to see your 'title')

Once 'reputation beyond repute' has been reached then it looks as if you have reached the summit.

Also, it seems that the more 'karma' you have then the more you give to others. If a poster with maximum 'karma' sends you 'karma' then it's quite possible to get 1,000 points or more in one go.

I really have to get out more.
