Anybody using Skype?
 

Just wondered if anybody is using this to contact friends back home? Is it easy to use?

Hi yes we use skype to contact relatives both in UK and Oz, We also used it to contact NZ, there was a bit of a delay but as its free who can complain.

I tend to use MSN messenger mostly as it is so easy and free,all I have is a cheap webcam and microfone from Tesco ,less than £20 then just get online.If you use skype it is only free between skype users .You have to pay to contact landlines or mobiles but by comparison to landline prices it is cheap,don`t forget the costs of your internet connection though . :)

We're still in the UK, and have been using Skype to call family in New Zealand. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, the delay is so bad it's pretty difficult to have a meaningful conversation, as you find yourself constantly interrupting each other, and missing parts of sentances. I don't know if anyone else has found it bad. We've gone back to calling via landline despite the cost.

We use it for all our international and most national calls. Occasionally get a bit of delay but mostly it's great, and about 5% of the cost of Telecom for call to UK.

Yes we use skype a lot. We do get a delay sometimes. The delay is worse on wet horrible days...I spose more traffic..... and also if we shut down the other PC (they are networked) then its better too..... its pretty good and we are glad we have it.
