Default Anybody had any luck getting any PPI back from the banks in the UK?

Hi there,

This one had completely skipped my radar. I've had a couple of friends over from the UK staying with us recently, and they were telling me about the controversy over Payment Protection Insurance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payment...ce#Controversy).

I've definitely had credit cards and loans throughout the 2000s in the UK, so I'm sure I must be due something. I can't actually remember ever taking any PPI out, but it's worth a try, right?

My question is - will living here (I'm a a permanent resident, been in the country for 6 years) work against me, or should I get my parents to contact the banks on my behalf from the UK?

you would need to provide evidence of the policy for the PPI from what I gather from moneysavingexpert. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/rec...loan-insurance. but read through the details on the link as it may have other useful info.

Yeah, kept all my financial records since leaving University so that part of it's not a problem.

My concern would be whether I'd be ignored with my correspondence coming from a NZ address...
