Another Police Check Question! :)
Hi again (bet your getting sick of me huh?) Anyways, we recieved our police checks in the post today (35 days) and I was just wondering if everything is ok with them, I want to make sure we have the right ones to take over with us, the letter goes like this:
Dear sir/madam
section 7,data protection act, 1998 subject access
In reply to your request for information that may be held about you by the Lancashire Constabulary on computer in the following categories:-
Personal Record: Prosecution/Conviction
Blah blah blah (legal stuff)
From the personal details supplied in your request there is no information held about you in the Personal Record catergory of the police national computer
If you requested any categories not shown above the Lncashire Constabulary will send you a seperate reply
Yours faithfully
Blah Blah
The letter has 2 blue bands, one on the top on one on the bottom.
I dont know what I was expecting, well I do actually...I pinched a Dime Bar from the local shops when I was about 12 (yes I am hanging my head in shame) and I was escorted home by 2 police officers, I thought that would be on there...!!!!
So is this the "police check" that is required and is it the same as everyone elses?, or have I sent off for the wrong one, any help would be appreciated as my brain is shaped like a wet fart these days (I have a 3 year old and a 2 year old......)
Thanks
stacey

This is the police check.
After a certain number of years minor one-off offences can get "weeded" from your record.

Been there. I was 13. Your record as a juvenile never disappears,it just isn't declared after you're 18.
I've just had my ITA, and the only thing they want to hear about is my only conviction 12 years ago-no mention of any of the others,so you'll be fine. And yes, that's your Police check. You're free to go.
