I had completely missed that anything had changed and it would probably be better for me to use the US site anyway but the UK one is easier for my family there to use for gifts to me and that all stopped when the NZ government started demanding GST on online sales to NZ from overseas business.

I was able to do something today that I have not done since 2019 - that was place an order on the Amazon UK site - GST was included with the invoice and they will ship the items to New Zealand.

I ordered a book so they are zero-rated for VAT anyway but to deliver it to NZ they now have to collect GST which Amazon UK have finally started to do so and they have restarted shipping orders here again.

I use Book Depository if I really cannot find the title here in NZ or from Oz , which was the case with Victor Gregg - Rifleman and also, most oddly, OlgaDaPolga a couple of years ago when I wanted a new copy for the girl next door. Book Depository is often the cheapest option even though one waits a while for delivery.

I will also use Ali Express, Fishpond , Marketplace etc with no probs. I am not quite sure what I would use Amazon UK for. I might use Amazon Com for an audible book for MrBEVS mind you

I am well pleased as well as I was down to bring some heavy stuff over in my baggage which wasn't previously available in NZ.

I used to buy all my kids books from Amazon as they are stupid expensive here. But I've been here nearly 20yrs so don't really know what the price comparison is now. I might go have a little look, I remember that if you ordered something as if it was meant for uk market it was actually superior quality. Quality control for UK was better.
