Default All Systems Go - Shipping prices etc......

Hi

Its all systems go for us :scared: , job offers and visa flying through. Only stumbling block is selling the house. It could be a big one, stumbling block that is.

Could anyone suggest or give us any information on shipping companies, prices and time sales etc...... we have no idea how much it may cost. Obviously would like a good company, but that preferably not one that will
cost the earth.

Any info most welcome.

Cheers

Michelle

Hi Michelle,
We've just had PSS round to give us a quote. I know they have been recommended by a few people on here, and we were quite impressed.
Their web site is www.pss.uk.com.
For a 3 bed semi, all contents including lot's of kiddie stuff, bikes, some garden and garage stuff we've been quoted £3208. On top of this will be £90 insurance. There are also extra charges if you need to store it at the other end of $176 plus $41 per week thereafter. This is all for a 20 foot 'Reefer' container.
The quote is for shiping to Tauranga. It will vary a little if you are going elsewhere.
Don't change your mind once it's shipped because it will cost you a fortune!
The guy who came round recommended we didn't take any wardrobes with us because apparantly the Kiwis don't go for free standing ones they are all built in.
We also plan to get a few more Shipping Agents round to quote us. Anybody else have any recommendations?
Mark

Hi Michelle,

We've had 2 quotes. 1 from PSS £3501.00 & Crown £4200.00 for a 20 foot container. We are gonna use Crown. They offered a better service, gave us loads more info, and use their own company in NZ. Whereas PSS use NZ Vanlines ( have read a few negative posts about them). The day after Crown had been to give us a quote, NZ office sent us an e mail introducing a woman who would be responsible for our stuff when it arrives at NZ.They do door to door service, take all the packaging away and set up all your stuff, ie assemble wall units, etc,.
Hope this has helped.
