Thumbs up Air conditioning engineer looking to move to NZ,

Hi there, I am very seriously looking to move to NZ, but just started looking.

Is there a skills list like Oz, that includes air con in on it, I am not sure hows this works for NZ.

I believe you have to get 100 points before you lodge a EOI.

Done a little research into this so far. any help would be great.

Hi

Check the NZIS site, they have lists for immediate skills shortages etc, also check the internet for companies with vacancies. You can always try www.trademe.co.nz for jobs and www.seek.co.nz these are just two sites with current vacancies on them.

The NZIS site is probably the best place to start as it will give you an idea of the points you may have in order to lodge your EOI, you will find that there is a points indicator.

ANSCO - Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic (342111)

This occupation is currently on the Long Term Shortage list and is seen as a skilled trade.

As you have realised points mean prizes with the New Zealand skilled migrant policy. The more points the better .

Your trade qualifications will need to match the standard set by NZ immigration.

There is an outline of the process HERE

You can try the NZIS POINTS INDICATOR. to see what points you might be eligible for.

As you state , 100 points is the minimum to lodge an EOI.

Here is the link to the Refrig and Air Con Association of NZ.

Trade Me is another place to look for vacancies .
