Question Advice please

Hoping for some advice please. We are moving out to NZ in Jan 07 and would like some advice on which electrical items will or won't work out there. Can we bring our TVs DVD players etc? Will they work ?
OH is planning on exporting his beloved ducati, any advice on bringing a motorcycle into NZ?
And finally, for now, any tips on settling in our children 8 and 3? Our 8 yr old daughter is not keen on this move, does anyone who has been through the process have any ideas or tips?
Thanks.

All electrical items are ok as the current is the same as UK.
DVD players are ok as long as it is multi region as we are on a different region over here, if not you can get them conveted quite cheaply whilst you are in the UK.
If you ask the manufactors of TVs if they will work no-one will give you a straight yes or no!!! All to do with the magnetic pull??????
But we found out when buying our new TV that most TVs sold here are made in Europe anyway, so explain that???
So basically I would say bring it...its worth a shot because in the scheme of things the money you will get for it selling it second hand in UK does not out weigh the cost shipping it over when you are talking about the size of a houshold to ship.

Lisa.

We brought out TV out and it will work fine providing you buy a NZ video player to tune in the channels. The TV's from the UK will not tune into the signal here. But you can buy a new New Zealand video that will enable you to pick up terestial channels, about 6 usually, for $100 (£30).

Your UK video will only be any good for playing tapes it will also not tune into the terestial TV.
