So gutted I got 9, 9, 7 and a 6.5 so will have to go through it all again just to get the last 7. I thought I would struggle with the writing but the reading was the hardest for me as I can't read very quickley and knew I had got some wrong as time ran out at the end. Oh well back to practice some reading now.

Gutting, but just keep going - one day it'll just be a chapter in your emigration tale, and you'll meet more bumps in the road yet!

Re: Advice for a nurse please?
Hi
I am in the process of registration. I have completed IELTS sucessful on first go. Was stressy and a whole day to complete.
I sent my application in by registered post from thr UK in January and heard nothing as yet. I emailed and was told stage 1 applications are in process. You will then go to stage 2 for transcript and police check. I believe it can take 3-4mths start to finish. I am also a dental hygienist and that process has been slightly quicker but very expensive! X

It seems that the nursing registration is more involved than the actual visa application. I was hoping not to say anything to my employer until nearer the time of leaving but they need the references first off. Anyway I'll just have to work through the process and not think about how long it is taking, as long as I get there in the end that's all that matters

As stated previously getting you registration is a priority.
I would look at and apply to the DHB's as they are more likely/willing to accept independent application for permanent positions. This may not be the official line but from what ive seen its the preffered option for them as they have to pay less fees.
Auckland DHB's (there are 3 of them) may offer a relocation package if they maike an offer - CMDHB offered a colleague $6k to relocate from the UK and offered me $2k - to relocate from Mt Manganui.
Acencies may be better suited to private sector work.
The conditions here within DHB's are fairly good.
As far a salary goes with your experience I would have no doubt that you would
go to the top of the nurses scale - step 5 $64k with shift allowances this would be higher.
Community Nurses are on a similar scale but with many more steps going up to 70K give or take.
Senior nurses are graded at a different level so depending what position you apply for would depend where you go a CNS (Clinical Nurse Specialist) could be on around $75k where a CNM (Chrage Nurse) starts at 84k
You can also add to your salary if you have evidence of your professional development portpoli0 (PDRP) which is grade in three steps the latter two of which have a monetory value attached.
Check the NZNO and/or PSA (Unions) wesited for links to their current MECA's ( Multi employer agreements)
