Default Accounting in NZ

Hi Everyone
I am looking to move back to NZ in approx a years time after doing my AAT, I was wondering what is the best qualification to do after that, recognizable in NZ such as ACCA, CIMA etc?
Many thanks for help in advance.

Hi Becks

It depends a bit where you want to go in NZ. In Auckland or Wellington, you should be OK with anything. However elsewhere they may be less enlightened. I struggled a bit with my CIMA to get a job in Chch and have ended up in Hamilton. ICAEW & ACCA have some kind of reciprocal arrangement with NZICA, and you may be able to get ACA accreditation. CIMA are working on it allegedly but I can't get a sensible answer out of CIMA or NZICA.

Good luck
Alison

Thanks with that Alison, I will probably end up back in Auckland, but sounds like it is best to go with the ACCA to be on the safe side!
