Hi

I am about to move to Leiden to start work in two weeks. I have a few questions that I would appreciate if someone had some info on them.

Is there an equivelent to UK council tax (I am trying to work out how much my monthly outgoings will be)

Is there an easy way to work out what tax you will be paying (I am currently unsure whther I will get the 30% ruling)

I dont know much about the 30% rule myself, but if you look on www.belastingdienst.nl im sure you will find something there.

Have a good read of all the posts here, and you will get a reasonable idea of costings. Leiden is a bit cheaper than Amsterdam for housing, other costs will be pretty similar (food, electricity etc etc)

I work 5 minutes down the road from Leiden, and its a lovely place. close to Amsterdam, close to a number of good beaches, and on 15 minutes from the Hague as well.
