Yippee!!!! This weekend, I got rid of my 2 couches, my bedroom set, and my huge tube TV. Still got the TV until tomorrow so I won't go stir crazy with nothing to watch, and I got some extra spendies instead of having to give all away just to get rid of it.

I sold for waaay less than I normally would have, but I'm on such a tight budget, anything is better than nothing at this point.

Now I can go and get my hair cut so I don't arrive in the UK looking like Worzel Gummidge!!! And all there is left to do is clean my apartment and get rid of the little bits I don't want. Yaaaaaayyyyy!!!!!

Oh, trust me. Before you can blink, your last days will sneak up on you!

I leave my apartment this Tuesday, with an overnight stay at a Miami airport hotel so I don't have to worry that I'll miss my flight due to getting lost, rental car breaking down, etc...Flying back on Wednesday. It's at night so I should sleep okay.

I'm sleeping on a very hard floor right now, but I have some blankets down so it's not that bad. Pup knows something's going on and gets anxious very easily.

It all feels very surreal. I've left the cleaning until tomorrow so I have something to do after my TV gets picked up. Seems that I cope better when things are done at the last minute.

Good for you! You never manage to get much for furniture and I am sure its not one of your main worries right now! I remember leaving Malaysia in a hurry to go to Germany (we had only 9 weeks to sell cars, house, find the dog a home, get the maid another employer, handover at work etc). We were so stressed we gave away our furniture including a practically new washing machine and fridge to my extended in laws. I never saw a penny! But I was just happy to get the things out of the house so the buyers could take over. Big mistake and not one I will make in future as we had to buy all new furniture at out next location. Now we lug everything around with us but we try not to accumulate too much stuff......very difficult not to but necessary!

Man, you must be so excited. I can't wait till my days are this close II know what you mean when you say these months will go by in a blink. We decided to move at the end of 2006 for the move to occur late summer 2008. And now it is already 2008. Time does go quick. In any case, we still got two homes to sell or rent (in this bad market), two cars to sell and my wife's US citizenship to go through. Yes it is stressful.

I see that you are not taking any chances on missing the flight and staying the night at the airport. hehe. I would probably do that same. :-)

Well done; we havent managed to sell ours, we are shipping all thats not electrical, tight budget now, so we wont be able to buy anythigh for a while!
