Not really, as the word means already means extraordinarily large ;);)

My kids interject their sentences with the word several times..adding to the length but not the detail of what they are saying. I actually asked them to try to stop saying it and they couldn't!!

hahaha i read the headline and thought, errrr... Like.

Had a woman in my cab yesterday and she, like, said it, like, 100 times!

Also, people going up at the end of their sentences, like, err, they are, like, asking a question (goes up at end of sentence).

This one's slightly off thread but how about TV ads that really irritate you? But first a bit of background to pre-empt any posters who don't find it funny.

Had one of those irritating/annoying days at work yesterday with my dear Canadian colleagues and during one particular boring meeting my mind started wondering and came up with a word play on an ad for a painkiller that's on TV here in the Vancouver. Don't forget the Irish take the mickey of the Scots, the English out of the Irish, the Welsh out of the English and everyone has a poke at the French. So in my book any nation can have a poke at any other nation.

Anyway the punch line for the ad is "Thousands of Canadians take Aleve to ease the pain of arthritis" and my wordplay on the ad is "Hundreds of ex-pats take British Airways to ease the pain of Canadians".

Here comes the backlash......

Wish I could remember, thought it was a well known thing. Bit like Essex girl jokes in england then. Been to Co. Kerry a couple of times and thought it was a nice place with friendly people.

It is lovely and so are the people. They've always been the butt of jokes here. Probably due to large amount of farmers. Never ever heard joke about Scots though.

Not sure it this is just a Northern Ireland thing but phrases that annoy me a little are "so it is" or "so I am" as in "it's a lovely day so it is" or "I'm gonna say somethin so I am"

Also for some reason I've always hated the word GUSSET:blink:

I actually have a fondness for 'gussett' or even more precise 'gussett area'. It has the ability to bring up images of what it is - warm and damp, yet sometimes inviting.

MMMmmmm... or maybe not
