It's been a couple of years in all BUT there have also been times within those couple of years where I've had the "what was I thinking" moments of loving it here and wondering why I would ever dream of leaving!

So, I wished that I posted during those times too so that when I look back through my posts, I can see how the time balances out (if it does, which I'm sure it would), and if there are particular triggers (Christmas being a good example). Wondered if anyone else experiences this constant pendulum swing?

Fact is, my taxes there would be slightly lower than they are here, plus I'd be saving $1,400 a month on health insurance, so I'll take paying for British unhealthy people any day!
Hi, I live in Washington St. Have you figured out why Americans put up with their healthcare system and fight tooth and nail against any change? It's absolutely beyond me, and this hang up about socialism, I think a lot of them think it means communism.
They are a strange lot.

Funny enough i was thinking about this the othere day, and concluded the majority of the time i want to go home and the minority of the time is when i want to stay, thinking on , i have been here 4 years and spent the last 4 years (mainly, not all the time), very unhappy. To be honest i have forgotten what it is to wake up , go to work, and feel happy and 'nomeal'.

p.s my sister has lived in usa for around 30 years (mainly Houston), and she would go back to Scotland in a heartbeat, she is now looking forward to retireing back there, what a shame though having spent 30 years being somewhere you really dont wanna be. On the plus side for her having lived in the usa, she will have a very comfortable retirement....she also looks fab! and healthy.....unlike myself

Although am glad am missing the winter in the u.k this year, sounds horrendous.

Oh I feel for you! I spent 6 years suffering through those winters before we moved down here. It's about 0c here today, and has been all month. I find it such a relief after my Canadian experience.
