If you dont like it get out, its the right thing because you see so many people who have been here bloody ages who now say its too late to get out, thats no way to live but its a reality for many.

Re: Why would you move back to the UK?
Oh lots of reasons, like (as they come to mind):
- quick access to lots of great towns and cities at the weekends, like Winchester, Chichester, Brighton, London...
- always close to the countryside, rivers, and coast
- great museums and galleries
- fascinating heritage and architecture
- good restaurants and take aways
- fabulous landscapes
- the seasons, e.g. the amazing colours of autumn right now
- the small size - short flight even to the highlands
- far better opportunities, pay and working conditions than many countries
- excellent universities
- generally good value and wide variety of food
- good education compared to many countries
- good healthcare system compared to many countries
- diversity of environment over short distances
- ease of access to other countries and cultures, including all of Europe and North-East USA within a few hours
- mild weather for most of the year
- brilliant British sense of humour
- world class TV shows
- probably the best music scene in the world
- the arts
- Vibrant and brilliant cities: London, Edinburgh, York, Cambridge, Glasgow, Oxford, Belfast, Manchester, Chester...
- a social life that is probably a bit too hectic
- and of course many, many, many amazing people that we we love and can now see regularly.
That's why!

You are right with every single point, now I am even more homesick! I am going to show it to my Aussie hubby to remind him what he is missing from the UK. He lived there for 10 years.
All the best to you, you lucky thing you.

Not everyone had a bad time in UK...some of us did have a great life in the UK and if OZ doesn't match up to it, or even betters it, then whats the point in staying??
Sometimes it's not a matter of Hating where you emigrated to...it's a matter of what you 'prefer'....and if thats the UK then so what!!! why would this offend you?
