Also, verystormy- the OP did not mention being a postdoc, and the comment about being a student was in regards to how everyone's idea of a good standard of living varies.
TBH if you want to discuss living standards in Aus you would be better diving into the Aus forum which has shedloads of posts dissecting the Aus economy to the Nth degree..



The OP does mention in other posts that he is senior management salary level and not a student.
