Who can countersign passport application

Who can countersign passport application
We are applying for babies UK passport but the form asks for JP, Mp Dr etc to countersign the form. It states though that they should have known us for 2 years. We do not know anyone since we have only been here 1 year. Can anyone else do it?

Yes - I had the same problem, and the man over the road, was a fully qualified Engineer, so he signed for me. Best wishes Don

Embassy should accept 1 yr if you have only been living in the USA that time.
