I think you will like living in Whitby - its quite a magical place to be honest. We love going there for day trips. My only reservation from your point of view would have been difficulties finding jobs/establishing a business, but that wont be a problem for you as a writer. I

(I love that man. When I worked in Saltaire, he could occasionally be seen wandering through t'mill as the owner - a very good friend of his - had a gallery of Hockney's work there and he popped in when he was visiting the UK.)
