The dire TV and constant adverts for penile disfunction and viagra.
Being almost stabbed or beaten to death in Northbridge on a few occasions.
(Northbridge is a war zone, and even on the off chance you do manage to avoid being beaten or robbed, then you can just end up like me and be ejected for no reason by bouncers and police who are understandably paranoid about the entire situation)
Will miss the low wages and working my butt off 6 days a week for what I earn in the UK in 3 days.
Yes will miss the flat barren mind- numbing Perth so much
I've heard such bad reports about Perth that it's a wonder why it has any Brits left there at all!
Have you guys thought about moving elsewhere in Oz? Melbourne is the place to be. It's even listed as the third best city in the world to live in (One of the Canadian cities first and Oslo second!) Perth is much further down the list.

I am fuming so just thought I'd stick my oar in here!

What I WILL NOT miss from Australia is their arrogance, extreme nationalism verging on racism and such bad sportsman-ship!!

I have just been put on hold on the telephone, and rather than hearing Greensleeves or some other bit of '"musak" I was forced to listen to some cricket commentary, going on about how s***e England were and that Australia were the better side and would beat them etc. I do not mean just saying this is a normal way, but swearing (was bleeped out) about England etc. It was not even done in an attempt to be amusing - it was just blatant abuse.

Also when England beat Australia in the rugby world cup last October, and then were going on to play France, the TV put up a screen saying "Go France"! Are they so jealous and worried about England at every step of the way that they have to continually do this???

It makes my blood boil! (aka Mr (or Mrs) Angry)

I am so glad to be taking my children out of this country - I do not want them to grow up being Aussies, if this is any indication of the 'norm' in relation to their homeland!!

I was just saying to my OH (an Aussie) how much the Aussies are bad losers when it comes to sport. and so rude to accomplished sports people from other countries when they lose. The other night one of the sports readers finished of by saying a rather cheeky goodbye to one of the Williams sisters as she was knocked out of the tournament. Now think of them what you will but they are accomplished tennis players and deserve a wee bit more respect IMHO. So yes, they are arrogant and expect to win and very bad losers when they don't. Sad really.

If there's one thing worse than a bad loser, it's a bad winner!

Even my Aussie loving OH reckons they're the most unsportsman like people he's ever met...worse than the Scottish when it comes to England !

Remember the Olympics a couple of years ago? You'd think there was only Australia competing in the darn games the way the newspapers/news reported it here! They only ever talked about what Australia had won, no mention of the other countries at all! Quite pathetic really.

I honestly find it bloody amusing that these grown men almost have what's tantamount to a temper tantrum when they lose a game. I am waiting for one of them, one day, to start jumping up and down screaming "It's not FAIR!"

Yeah o.k, the Brits may not be the best at sports but at least we can take the p*ss out of ourselves and praise some other country that are great.

Something else I won't miss about this place; waking up every single day during the summer knowing full well the minute I get showered and dressed and ready for the day ahead...I'm going to be soaking wet and sweaty within 5 minutes It's only 9.00am here and my house is already sweltering. So much for aircon....I dunno about you guys but we certainly cannot afford to put it on all day every day, we have to wait until the afternoon and it's unbearable, then we put it on. We were getting leccy bills of over $400 and we just can't do that

He he! I couldn't believe the number of fast food chicken places when we first got here, even the smallest row of shops seems to have one. I used to find it quite funny to spot awful fast food places with crap names in the UK but here they are everywhere so not so funny anymore. There is the occasional decent place, but of course sod's law they close early & not open all hours like the crap places.

Serious as a 'art attack.

I'd be denying her so much it would be criminal.
