What exchange rate to use? Moving BNE - LON
 

Hi all. There's always a lot of talk on the Aus boards about needing to use a conversion of around 2.2 to take into account the cost of living in Aus, but I was wondering if the reverse holds true?

If we moved form BNE to the UK (London/Home Counties) would a salary conversion of 2.2 (i.e. about 45%) give us the right sort of standard of living/disposable income idea? i.e. If I am on (say) $100K in Aus, do I need to be getting GBP45K or do I really need more than that to maintain a similar lifestyle?
