What do you think??

I'm not sure if this is possible to do...my neighbour has a few apple trees in her garden, which are full with red apples and so far as I can see she is not using any of them....on the other hand do my children love homemade apple sauce..
Do you think I could ask her for some apples..or is that to rude??

hiya, guess if you've already been introduced and all is ok then yeah why not and maybe you can reciprocate by sending the children next door with a bunch of flowers :)

thinking about it some more, guess even if you've not met no harm in asking.

Or even better - just send the children next door! :D

Another top tip, is to send them scrumping - no childhood is complete without taking part in this wonderful pasttime - just make sure they don't get caught as it's only your neighbour!

I don't think it's rude to ask....she may even be grateful.

When we were kids we used to go to this house round the block, rush in steal a hand full of apples and then roller-boot as fast as anything down to the garages and eat our loot. We did this for a couple of years, but eventually grew up and grew out of it. That year we were walking past with my Mum and the lady came out and asked when we'd be coming to get the apples as she was having trouble eating them on her own! :o

Re: What do you think??

I still don't think it's a problem.....perfect opportunity to introduce yourself. :D But if you're not comfy with it then you'll just have to watch all those lovely apples becoming windfall and gradually rotting into the ground.....when they could have been enjoyed......instead they're worm food.......

Go on, be brave and go round there.

Yes and tell her there's some yummy apple sauce in to for her if she lets you have some :)

Re: What do you think??

Nothing wrong in asking, and could offer to make them an apple pie or something....worst they can say is no, then you just go and knick them when there at work :D

Re: What do you think??

Or just ask if you can buy some from them (won't sound as cheeky) and they'll most likely say you can have some for free anyway. Could be a good way to break the ice.
