I have never heard the word "whinging" before! It is similar to our "whining" - I know it means to complain- is it pronounced the same as whining or is it "winging?" (I searched the wiki for it to no avail!)

Fact is...a forum is the wrong place for this.

Lesson learnt.

I'm with JG. Not the wrong place, but perhaps you need to understand the "culture" of the forum before you do it. You can't control the responses.

Anyway glad you are still here, please stick around we are not a bad bunch, caustic sarcastic British wit and all.

Sarcasm is universally regarded as the lowest form of wit. The fact that certain people in here try to make a virtue out of it is rather troubling.

It's very British to knock people when they're down isn't it and maybe rather fun too when you can be anonymous. I like British humor and sarcasm as much as the next Brit but you never see such callous remarks and posts on the UK Yankee site. I find it a bit cruel to sit behind a computer screen and poke fun at struggling people and it makes me ashamed to be British frankly.

The sarcastic sense of humour was one of the things that attracted me to BE.
