Default US --> UK: TV compatibilty

Hi...I am relocating to the UK with my British husband from the US. I would like to bring a few of our televisions as I use them primarily as monitors (HDMI) with my laptop/desktop. I am assuming this is fine as it is independent of any TV signal. I will, of course, get the appropriate plug for the power. Does this make sense?

Would also love any tips on electronics in general...

Thanks - 3BagsFullTdr

You’ll also need to check voltage, most US TVs as far as I know are only 110v. You’ll need a transformer to step down the UK voltage to 110v

Thanks - I am definitely doing that...just trying to figure out that if the TV is just connected to a laptop - it should be just fine regardless of it being a US TV...

The HDMI connection should work just fine. My US laptop connects to my small UK TV that I use as a monitor via HDMI quite nicely so I expect the reverse will work just as well.

Tagging on - would there be anyone who considers a soundbar worth taking? I would connect it HDMI to a British bought television...I anticipate no problems but I do not know for certain...Thanks...

I would have thought so, but don’t know for certain.
